In 2016, the ITCA looks forward to welcoming all competitors and familes to the 2016 Topper Worlds, to be held at Ballyholme Yacht Club, Northern Ireland from 23th - 29th July.

Ballyholme Yacht Club and the waters of Belfast Lough are set to provide exciting and competitive racing afloat and a friendly community ashore, which competitors and their supports will greatly appreciate.  As the International Topper is a truly one design Class, the skill of the sailor decides the World Champion. Therefore the Class searches out sailing waters that test those skills by providing the very best of racing conditions, and Ballyholme Bay delivers such a racing area for our highly competitive fleet.

Many International Topper sailors move on from our class to youth, senior and Olympic classes.  The skills gained during the International Topper Class events provide them with a great foundation from which they go on to become European, World and Olympic champions.  Ballyholme Yacht Club recognises the importance of the International Topper Class and is able to provide race organisation that caters for the skills and experience of all participants in our World Championships.  Ballyholme Yacht Club is also proud to be the home sailing club of Liam Glynn, the 2013 International Topper Class World Champion, who helps to coach young Topper sailors at the club.

Please visit the Ballholme website for further details on the club and local information.  Further information will follow in the ITCA World newsletters and on the ITCA World Facebook page.

A poster for the event can be found here; please share on your sailing club's notice boards!

A special word of thanks to our Title Sponsor, Rooster, who will be strongly supporting the event in 2016 and in the years to come.

Thank you to Topper International, who continue their generous sponsorship of the event, with charter boats for international sailors and a race rigged Topper for auction.

Thank you to Ards and North Down Borough Council, Volvo, P & O Ferries, Art History Abroad, Proctor and Stevenson and Rothwells Supertravel, who will also be sponsoring the event.

Bangor is a great place for a summer holiday – for all of the family.

Bangor is a classical Victorian tourism resort but it has lots of modern facilities to entertain you and your family during your stay. Please click here for more information about Pickie Fun Park, Aurora (Olympic sized swimming pool and leisure centre), Eddie Irvines Sportsplex, our Multiplex cinema and many other attractions. We are only 12 miles away from Belfast with the Titanic Signature Building and Victoria Square shopping complex, and with the recent motorway enhancements just a 2 hour drive from Dublin. You can also visit the world famous Giants Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, have a walk around the Gobbins or visit the Mourne Mountains.

If the rest of the family want to be more active, Bangor and North Down is home to many golf courses (including the home of Rory McIlroy) as well as some great cycling routes. You can even hire horses locally.

There are a number of local tourism websites to check out on Ballyholme's Local Attractions web page.
