The World Sailing Conference 2018 was held in Sarasota, Florida, USA at the end of October 2018.

Representing the International Topper Class were Commodore Bill Brassington and Designer's representative Roger Proctor.

We will be accepting visa grant applications and any other travel grants applications (if there are any others) up until November 30th.

Any applications that are received after that date cannot be accepted, as we need to provide the final accounts.

Northern Irish sailor Dan McGaughey, from Donaghadee Sailing Club, has been awarded the Volvo Irish Youth Sailor of the Year award for his performance in the Topper Class.

Dan had a fantastic year in Toppers last year, culminating in 3rd place in the 5.3 class at the Rooster International Topper Class World Championships.

There was stiff competition in the awards reflecting great talent in Irish youth sailing.

As a prelude to the 2018 Topper Worlds, the first ever Topper Asian Championships was held from the 29th December 2017 to the 1st January 2018 in Longcheer Yacht Club, the venue for the Meisha Campus Topper World Championships 2018.

97 Topper sailors from 4 countries attended the event with strong performances all round. 3 good days of sailing were held in variable conditions.

On Friday 24th November two volunteers close to the Topper Family, Sally Dugdale and Robin Gray, were presented with awards for their contributions to the Sailing Community.
