Toppers at the RYA Dinghy Show, London

ITCA World was well represented on the Topper International stand at the recent RYA Dinghy Show at Alexandra Palace in London. 

It was great to see many Topper sailors, old and new at the show. ITCA World sponsors Rooster Sailing and Ronstan were also kept very busy with sailors keen to check out their latest gear and kit themselves out for the new season.

As well as talks given by several ex-Topper sailors who are now members of the British Olympic Team for Tokyo 2020, our own Topper, Olympian and Volvo Race sailor and ITCA World Event Secretary, Annie Lush was busy on stage hosting many of the talks and interviews.

One of Annie's interviews on stage was with Immi Rees, who finished an impressive 8th in the 4.2 fleet at the Topper Worlds 2019. Immi and father Dan were asked about what inspired Immi to race a Topper and she gave some very good and inspiring answers. Dan was also impressed with the experience, and as a result was moved to add some media interview techniques into the coaching sailors receive in the local Jets training camps.

Ronstan held a prize draw on the Topper stand, kindly giving away five Ronstan ClearStart sailing watches. With over 175 entrants, one of the lucky winners was James from Papercourt SC, who has recently moved into a Topper from the Optimist and was very excited to receive his prize. James mailed Ronstan to thank them for his prize and sent us this picture with his new boat and starting watch.
