Update on Topper Worlds entry procedure

In order to help families thinking of entering the Topper Worlds who are concerned that there might still be quarantine restrictions in place from the Irish Government come July, ITCA World has issued clarification on the following points:

• In the unlikely event that despite Ireland and the UK being within The Common Travel Area, there is still a requirement to quarantine on entering Ireland from the UK at the time of the Championships, the event would be cancelled and entry fees refunded less any Paypal admin fees incurred. This should give confidence to those planning to enter the Worlds but concerned they would forfeit their entry fee.

• In consideration of the lack of a clear roadmap from the Irish authorities, the discounted early entry fee will be extended to June 22^nd, so that sailors keen to attend are not penalized for waiting for the travel policy to be announced. However, the organisers do need to see a threshold number of entries by the end of May in order to make the championships viable. If you do wish to compete it is important that you show your intention by entering online now, safe in the knowledge that your entry fee would be refunded in the event of cancellation as described above.

• Whilst the current Notice of Race states in 7.5 the refund policy in the instance of a competitor cancelling their entry, ITCA World is happy to offer further comfort by offering a full refund of entry fees (less any admin fees incurred) if the competitor is prevented from travelling due to a local, regional lockdown ordered by Government. The published NoR will be amended to this effect in due course.

• For those still hesitant to book travel arrangements, we understand Stena Line ferries are offering a full refund for cancellations up to 24 hours before departure for passengers who book their Flexi Fare. Irish Ferries also offer a Flexi Fare and offer 100% refund for cancellations up to 48 Hours before departure as a travel credit, valid for travel to the end of 2022 or a refund to original payment card less fees.
